Why did Deepika and Ranveer not live together before marriage?
In an interview with a leading daily, when asked why the couple chose not to stay together before marriage, Deepika said that not doing so was important to her. There was a lot of temptation, especially for the two of them who are constantly travelling, to move away from the traditional, but it was important to herself, she said. Ranveer was always alright with anything. He reportedly always told her, "Whatever makes you happy makes me happy." But it's about having to do it all at the right time for her, she said. If they had decided to live together earlier, what would they discover later? She said that they made their life's best decision. They believe in the institution of marriage, and they love every bit of it, she reportedly said.
Deepika also spoke about her mother's first awareness of her depression in 2014. She said one day she broke down in front of her. She wasn't able to stop crying, she said. Her mother asked, 'Is that your relationship? Is this your job?' And she reportedly said, 'Oh, no, no, nothing like that.' She just kept saying, 'no, no, no, no.' she said she was feeling empty, and that's it. Later, her mother said she needed help.
On the professional front, along with husband Ranveer Singh, she will soon be seen in 83. She plays Romi, the girlfriend and later wife of cricketer Kapil Dev. She will also be seen in her next, Chhapaak by Meghna Gulzar, a film on the acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. She also runs the Live Laugh Love foundation and regularly takes part in workshops and talks through the same.
