Deepika Padukone, newly appointed chairperson of MAMI film festival kicked off the Movie Mela with Star 2019 on Sunday. Speaking at the session where the 'Padmaavat' actress was talking about her 5 career defining roles, she also spoke about the two co-stars she has worked with in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Ram Leela -- Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh. But what is the difference between the two when it comes to their working style and preparing for a film? Ranveer Singh shares a 'Ram-Leela' BTS pic featuring Deepika Padukone "Ranbir doesn’t really have a process; he is very spontaneous. I have never really seen him ‘prepare’ for his role as such. He’s like me in that respect. Our approach is 50% rehearsed and 50% spontaneous. Ranveer, on the other hand, really gets into the process. He changes everything for the role – right from the car he drives, to the clothes and the perfume he wears. He’s a different person every six months; I never get bored," said Deepika. She further cited an example of husband Ranveer Singh who was a different man when he was shooting for '83 in London but when he came back to India to shoot for Simmba, his look changed. Ranveer Singh broke down after shooting the climax of '83: Kabir Khan Meanwhile, Deepika also spoke about Irrfan Khan and shooting for Piku. She said if given a chance, she would happily do that film all over again. "I miss Piku, I miss the experience of making the movie. We were all in a really good place when we were making the movie. I had gotten out of depression and things were looking up. We had sets that were fully functional – the house, for instance. Shoojit (the director) told us to go about our parts as if we were really living in the house, and the camera would follow us. In that sense, we really ‘lived’ the film, and those moments were beautifully put together and presented to the audience." Deepika likely to star in 'dark romantic' film going on floors on 2020 On the professional front After much-celebrated venture 'Padmaavat', Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are all set to share screen space yet again in upcoming sports drama '83'. The film chronicles India's first Cricket World Cup win at the Lords in 1983. Deepika Padukone will play the role of husband Ranveer Singh's reel wife who is set to take up the lead role as Captain Kapil Dev. Reportedly, she is also a co-producer of the film. Moreover, Deepika will also be seen in Meghna Gulzar directorial 'Chhapaak,' playing the role of an acid attack survivor alongside actor Vikrant Massey.
