Diljit Dosanjh's Manager Addresses Claims Of Non-payment Of Dancers In Diluminati Tour
Diljit Dosanjh's manager Sonali Singh slammed Rajat Batta for presenting a 'false narrative'. She clarified that the official team never contacted them.
Diljit Dosanjh is creating a heavy buzz on the Internet, not for his songs, but for allegedly not paying dancers. On Friday, Rajat Batta, an entrepreneur who runs several professional dance groups, made an allegation against the Punjabi singer for not paying to dancers performing in the background on the stage during a Dil-Luminati tour across the US and Canada. Now, Diljit's manager Sonali Singh has addressed the allegations and rubbished them by requesting them to stop spreading misinformation.
Diljit Dosanjh is currently doing the Dil-Luminati Tour across various countries, such as the US, Canada, Europe, and his home turf of India. The tour kicked off in Vancouver, Canada, and so far, he has performed across the US and Canada.
Diljit Dosanjh's manager Sonali breaks silence
Taking to her Instagram handle, Sonali shared a statement clarifying that Rajat Batta and Manpreet Toor were never contacted by their official team. She added that they were not part of the Dil-Luminati Tour. She started off her statement by writing, "Just to clarify Rajat Batta, Manpreet Toor and other choreographers who are making statements of Dil-Lumanati Tour were never a part of the tour, Our official team never contacted Rajat Batta or Manpreet Toor who are presenting false narrative on social media. Rajat and Manpreet were not part of the Dil-Lumanati tour in any way."
" The official choreographers for the Dil-Lumatani tour are Balwinder Singh, Preet Chahal, Divya and Parth (Vancouver)," she continued. Sonali signed off by writing, "Anyone not involved in the tour should stop spreading misinformation."
What did Rajat Batta claim?
He took to his Instagram handle and penned a long note stating that dances in Diljit's toDil-Lumanati tour were not paid. In a series of posts, Batta alleged that all of the Desi Dancers in Diljit's shows were not paid and were expected to perform for free. His note read, While we as a Desi Dance Community are really proud of a Desi Artist breaking glass ceilings and doing sold-out tours across North America... I still feel deeply disappointed that Desi Dancers are still undervalued as an industry."
"All of the Desi Dancers in Diljit's Dil-Luminati Tour were not paid, and just expected to perform for free...Desi Dance as an industry has become a lifeblood for artists and do a significant part in the entire ecosystem of the industry... while its choreography, stage performances, music videos, reels, to even promoting songs," he continued.
"It's an essential part of production and it's really disappointing to see an artist of this caliber cut corners by stepping on throats of Desi Dancer industry and continue to attribute to that culture. Diljit, we are very happy for your success, but your dancers should have been paid and been a part of the production budget," he concluded.
