About 'Dream Girl':
The comedy-drama features Ayushmann as a Tele caller who aces his female alter ego Pooja while calling his customers. The film takes interesting twists as his customers eventually fall for her and come down to pulling each other's hair to win her. Talking about the film, the director in a previous interview revealed that the film is set in Mathura and Ayushmann will be heard speaking Haryanvi and Hindi languages in the local accent.
Film lands into controversy:
Dream Girl' recently landed in the hot waters as a filmmaker named Janak Toprani has alleged that his 2017 film, 'Call For Run' bears resemblance to the film which sees the main male lead character donning various female avatars. As per a report, the filmmaker claimed that he had approached Balaji Telefilms with the script twice but it was rejected. He further informed that Ekta Kapoor was not a part of the talks, as he had spoken to the production team.
Director refutes plagiarism claims:
Dream Girl' director Raaj Shaandilyaa responded to the plagiarism allegations and defied all such claims. The filmmaker during a recent interview reportedly said that the idea of the film belongs to him and his co-writer Nirmaan D. Singh since 2010 and they have also registered it. Raaj Shaandilyaa further emphasized on his point saying that the concerned director's film was not commercially successful, so would he or anybody replicate the idea.
