Exclusive | Munjya Star Abhay Verma Reveals His Relationship Status: I'm Absolutely In Love...

With the success of his latest release Munjya, Abhay Verma has become the actor to look out for. The 26-year-old essays the lead role in the horror-comedy film that minted nearly ₹125 crore at the worldwide box office. His acting prowess and chocolate boy looks have earned him a fan following, especially among females. In an exclusive conversation with Republic Digital, Abhay reveals whether he is single.

Is Abhay Verma single? 

A common sentiment that resonated following the release of Munjya is how charming Abhay Verma was in the film. The actor played the role of a naive, shy man and seems to be one in real life. When asked about the matters of the heart, the actor said without missing a beat, "I am absolutely in love with my audiences."

Fairly new to the industry, Abhay seems well-versed in the ways of the celeb life as he conveniently avoided dishing out personal details. With a slight chuckle, the actor confirmed that he is single. "I am actually very much single right now. There is already a lot to handle in terms of work and appreciation from the audience. So, I don't think there is any space left or void left to be filled," Abhay shared.

However, the actor who played a pivotal role in Ae Watan Mere Watan and The Family Man 2, said that he is open to the idea of falling in love. He, in fact, shared that is willing to embrace romance whenever it happens. He shares, “Why not? Love is always welcome.”

What's next for Abhay Verma? 

Despite the comfort that accompanied Munjya success, Abhay Verma refuses to slow down just yet. Starting his journey in showbiz from featuring in commercial ads to doing short films, followed by direct-to-digital releases, to finally shouldering a mainstream theatrical movie, Abhay has moulded himself to the demands of the industry. In his next, the actor says he is excited to collaborate with his 'idol'. 

Without taking names Abhay said, "I am happy that whatever is put into my acting has been appreciated and praised. But, next is something that I count on my blessings. That's all I can say for now. What I can say is that I think I will be working on my idol really soon. Finger's crossed ki mujhe unke saath kaam karne ka mauka milega (I will get an opportunity to work with him)."

What makes his next project even more special is the character he plays in it. "Especially ek aise character mein joki positive nahi hai, he has a grey side. Aur unki bhi journey bhi aisi rahi hai ki ek film dene ke baad he chose a different path for himself. So, I am counting on my blessings that his and mine journey are similar," Abhay shared.

The undisclosed project would be a pivot for the actor who has largely featured in positive roles up until now. Signing off, Abhay assured fans by saying, "The next thing will be really exciting. I am very excited."
