Gulshan Devaiah on releasing Ulajh on big screens rather than OTT

Many critics as well as social media users have argued that Ulajh would have seemingly incurred less losses for the producers if it were to release directly on OTT. Gulshan Devaiah addressed the issue in a social media post and mentioned, “Feature films are meant to be seen on the big screen. Hit flop toh chalta rahta hai. (hits and flops are parts and parcels of the process).”

He added that a theatrical release was especially dear to him. He noted, “As pragmatic as I am about a lot of things , I’m not willing to let go of my idealism when it comes to cinema. I also don’t expect people to understand this. It’s a very personal thing for me."

Apart from Janhvi and Gulshan, Ulajh also features Roshan Mathew, Adil Hussain, Meiyang Chang and Rajesh Tailang in pivotal roles.
