Guru Randhawa back in India with 4 stitches after Vancouver fan assault, won't ever perform in Canada again

Singer Guru Randhawa was attacked in Vancouver by an unidentified man on July 28, as reported earlier in the day. In the latest development now, the singer himself has described the incident on his Twitter handle with a picture of his right eyebrow being injured with four stitches.

Randhawa further also declared on his post that he will never perform in Canada for the rest of his life. Describing the horrific incident, Guru wrote that right after the concert got over, the man came and punched his face hard because of which he started bleeding on the spot. He also went back to the stage and showed it to the audience.

Punjabi singer Preet Harpal shared (now deleted) a photo of Guru Randhawa on his Facebook account, and wrote: "I know Guru since long... He is a very genuine person and always respects others. But this is very bad thing. I don't know what is happening to the society."

This is not the first time when a Punjabi artist was attacked at a concert. According to the reports, Punjabi singer Kaur B and Karan Aujla were heckled in Australia, and a fight erupted when Punjabi singer Sidhu Mossewala was performing in Canada recently.

Meanwhile, on the professional front, Punjabi singer Guru Randhawa, known for songs such as "High Rated Gabru" and "Suit Suit", hit headlines when he collaborated with American rapper Pitbull for his single "Slowly Slowly". The track composed, written and sung by Randhawa, was directed by Gifty. Maintaining a universal and multilingual approach, the lyrics were penned in English, Hindi, and Spanish.

"It is a dream come true moment. I always wanted to represent my village, my state and my country at an international level. This collaboration with Pitbull is one step towards that representation. I can't thank Pitbull and T-Series enough for all their support and love. We have worked hard on this single and I hope this will put Indian music on the world map," Randhawa said in a statement.
