Imran Khan snapped with I Hate Luv Storys director Punit Malhotra amid acting comeback rumours
Imran Khan and Punit Malhotra were snapped together at a party. The actor-director duo have collaborated twice before.
Imran Khan made a rare public appearance on October 30. The actor was snapped at Kriti Kharbanda’s birthday bash, which was attended by several other members of the industry as well. The celebrations also posed itself as an opportunity for the reunion of Imran Khan and the I Hate Luv Storys director Punit D Malhotra, who were snapped together before leaving the party. The photo of Imran and Punit from the party is now doing the rounds on social media, with fans speculating if a sequel to the 2010 romantic comedy movie — I Hate Luv Storys, is in the works.

Imran Khan headlined the 2010 film I Hate Luv Storys along with Sonam Kapoor. The film was helmed by Punit Malhotra and garnered critical acclaim. Amid rumours of his comeback, a photo of Imran with the director has made social media users believe that a sequel of the film might be in the works. However, there is no official confirmation for the same yet. Notably, the speculations come at a time when in a recent interview, Khan confirmed he is reading scripts and has been working on making an acting comeback. Apart from I Hate Luv Storys, Imran and Punit have collaborated for the 2013 Kareena Kapoor starrer film Gori Tere Pyaar Mein.
What did Imran Khan say about Punit Malhotra?
Recently, the Katti Batti actor revisited all films he had starred in. In a post dedicated to I Hate Luv Storys, Imran took to his Instagram account on September 12, to share that he ‘instant hit it off’ with the director. He wrote, “What can I tell you about making this film; I instantly hit it off with @punitdmalhotra and we quickly developed a great working relationship. The energy was amazing, and since we were telling a story about the movie business, there was an extra twinkle in everyone's eyes, and we always cracked up while filming scenes that we knew were based on reality.”
Imran Khan, who has been on an acting break after his last film released in 2015, has starred in 14 films in a career spanning 15 years.
