'It's extra special': Vidya Balan on winning Youth Icon Award

Vidya Balan has recently bagged the Youth Icon Award from the Imperial College London and said that she is extremely happy and over the moon after winning the recognition. The Tumhari Sulu actress also visited the University to interact with the students where she was invited by the prestigious institute as a guest to interact with the students. Expressing joy on receiving the Award, she said,
"What made it unforgettable was the love and warmth I received from students...the energy in that room was truly infectious."
'It is special for me'
The actress said that the Award was extra special to her because she recieved it from the youth itself.
"It's extra special cuz for the first time I received a Youth Icon Award from the Youth itself. You know sometimes 2 + 2 = (equals )beyond what 4 can contain," she said.
The actress also shared her certificate of Recognition on Instagram and said that the visit to the Imperial College was special to her because that is where the Shakuntala Devi made her historic calculation.
Prior to her visit to the college, the actress said that she was honoured and the visit was special to her as London was an integral part of Shakunatala's life. On the occasion of 'World Maths Day', the actress shared a mathematical problem on social media. She said that maths never fails to amuse her. She also paid homage to the maths wizard Shakuntala Devi, whose role Vidya will soon be portraying.
Vidya Balan is set to star in the role of Indian Maths Wizard 'Shakuntala Devi'. The film based on the life of a mathematical genius is directed by Anu Menon and produced by Sony Pictures Network Productions and Vikram Malhotra and will hit theatres in 2020.
