Amitabh Bachchan's grand-daughter Navya Naveli Nanda hit headlines with Jaaved Jaaferi's son Meezan after the two were spotted exiting a movie theatre last year. Their link-up rumors have been floating ever since. Earlier this year, Meezan made his Bollywood debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Malaal' and the actor on Thursday walked the ramp for designer Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla's 33 years celebration. But something that caught everyone's eyes was Jaya Bachchan cheering for Meezan.
For those unaware, the designers are close friends of the Bachchans and spotted in the audience was Jaya Bachchan who towards the end of Meezan's ramp walk quickly walked towards him to give him a warm hug. The video went viral immediately with Netizens wondering if this probably confirms the rumours of Navya and Meezan dating as looks like Jaya Bachchan approves. Meanwhile, Navya's mother Shweta Bachchan too marked her presence at the show but she wasn't spotted near Jaya. Watch the LAST VIDEO in the album -
Meezan's clarification on Navya Naveli Nanda
During his film promotions, Meezan spoke about the rumours and said: "Why will I admit it when there is no relationship? There is no relationship, okay? We're friends. Friends ka bhi ek relationship hota hai. It's not a boyfriend-girlfriend dating relationship. Just cause we get papped outside the theatre leaving with friends, by the way, that doesn't mean, 'Oh, we're dating,'" he clarified.
And in another media interaction, Meezan also spoke about the picture when he hid his face after he was papped with Navya. He said: "We used to study together in New York and the photograph that went viral showed us going for a movie. I had covered my face because I did not want social media exposure at that time. In fact, I don't want to be in the news for my personal life. I believe that social media should be used selectively. I am currently single and am only focussing on my work."
Meezan's Debut
Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, introduced his niece Sharmin Segal and Jaaved Jaaferi's son Meezaan with his home production "Malaal". The filmmaker was also in awe of Meezaan, whom he called the star of the century. "Four years ago, Sharmin was assistant on 'Bajirao Mastani' and I said bring someone for costume trial and she got Meezaan. When he entered, I was like a star has arrived," Bhansali said.
The film is a love story directed by National Film Award for Best Children 's Film winner Mangesh Hadawale, while it was jointly produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Bhushan Kumar, Mahaveer Jain, and Krishan Kumar. "Malaal" released on June 28. The film received positive reviews from both viewers and reviewers but unfortunately didn't perform at the box-office. The debutants Meezan and Sharmin were praised for the acting skills.
