The Batla House star John Abraham kick-started his Bollywood career with his debut film Jism which released in the year 2003. For Jism John Abraham was nominated for his first Filmfare Best Debut award. His first commercial success was Dhoom. The movie released in 2004, Dhoom movie also featured Abhishek Bachchan, Esha Deol, Rimi Sen and Uday Chopra. John Abraham is also a producer, in 2012 he produced his first film Vicky Donor. The movie was a commercial and critical success at the Box Office. John tied the knot with Priya Runchal in the year 2014. John has also appeared in many other successful movies like Water, Garam Masala, released in 2005, Taxi No. 9211 released in 2006. Reportedly, John Abraham was born into a family of mixed religious and ethnic heritage. John's father is a Malayali Protestant Syrian Christian from Kerala and his mother is an Irani with her roots in Gujarat. According to sources, the Dhoom actor's Zoroastrian name is "Farhan" but he was baptized with the name "John". John considers himself a spiritual person, but he does not follow any particular religion. John Abraham grew up in Mumbai, India. John Abraham completed his schooling from Bombay Scottish School in Mahim, Mumbai. He later completed his higher studies from Jai Hind College, University of Mumbai. John received his MBA degree from Mumbai Educational Trust.

In many interviews, John has proudly laid bare his journey to being a Bollywood Star. John started his modelling career by appearing in a music video of Punjabi singer Jazzy B. John later joined a media firm - Time & Space Media Entertainment Promotions Ltd., which later closed due of financial problems. He also said that he worked as a media planner with Enterprises-Nexus. In order to improve his acting skills, John Abraham also joined the Kishore Namit Kapoor acting laboratory. He juggled his acting course and modelling assignments.

John will be seen in his upcoming comedy film Pagalpanti. The movie is scheduled to hit the screens on November 22, 2019. Pagalpanti is directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Abhishek Pathak, Krishan Kumar and Kumar Mangat. The film will also feature Anil Kapoor, Ileana D'Cruz, Arshad Warsi Pulkit Samrat, Kriti Kharbanda, Urvashi Rautela and Saurabh Shukla.
