John Abraham's Batla House: Vice President Venkaiah Naidu impressed by 'motivation' behind the film

Team of John Abraham's 'Batla House' met Vice President Venkaiah Naidu in Delhi. The Vice President was impressed by the 'motivation' behind the film. The team expressed their honour to meet Naidu.

With their film based on a massive political and controversial event, the team of John Abraham starrer ‘Batla House’ called on Vice President Venkaiah Naidu in New Delhi on Saturday. The Vice President expressed his delight about the visit and the 'motivation' of the makers to bring on screen the Batla House encounter while conveying his best wishes. The members of the team termed the meeting as an ‘honour’.

Sharing pictures from the meeting, Venkaiah Naidu wrote, “Actors Shri John Abraham and Shri Mrunal Thakur along with the Director Shri Nikkhil Advani and the team of the film #BatlaHouse called on me, in New Delhi today.” 

Wishing them the best for their venture, he added, “They explained to me that the motivation for the film was to uncover the truth of the incident that took place 11 years ago in the Batla House area in Delhi. My best wishes to the entire team.”

John replied, “Privileged to have met the honorable @VPSecretariat and show him glimpses of our film #BatlaHouse" 

Lead actress Mrunal Thakur, director Nikkhil Advani, producers Bhushan Kumar, Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani, who were also a part of the interaction, echoed similar feelings.

‘Batla House’ is based on the controversial circumstances of the encounter in Batla House, Delhi on September 19, 2008 where two alleged terrorists were killed, two arrested and one escaped. This was in the aftermath of the blasts that reportedly killed 30 persons a few days before that. 

The movie is hitting the theatres on August 15.
