Amitabh Bachchan is receiving rave reviews for his performance in the recently released movie Kalki 2898 AD. The veteran star played the role of Ashwatthama, who takes the responsibility to protect Deepika Padukone's character. As much as his acting, cinemagoers also hailed Big B's transformation into his character. Speaking of which, on Tuesday, Da Makeup Lab's official social media handle shared behind-the-scenes photos of the octogenarian getting ready for his role in Kalki 2898 AD.

How did Amitabh Bachchan transform into Ashwatthama for Kalki 2898 AD?

Preetisheel Singh Dsouza, a character designer, who designed Amitabh Bachchan's look shared a joint post showing Big B's transformation. Sharing the photos, she wrote, "Behold the transformation of @amitabhbachchan Sir into #ashwatthama : a timeless legend brought to life by a legendary actor."

Karandeep Singh, who is a prosthetic artist, also shared several photos of the veteran actor in the Ashwatthama avatar. He shared some detailed shots of his look and congratulated the team of Kalki 2898 AD for the blockbuster opening. "Congratulations to the whole team of Kalki for mind blasting opening. We hope you all liked the look of sir @amitabhbachchan designed by @preetisheel and set makeup executed by me. Here are some detailed shots of his look and behind the scenes," read his caption.

What else do we know about Kalki 2898 AD?

Inspired by an epic mythology Mahabharat, the movie is set in a post-apocalyptic world in the year 2898 AD, the film follows a select group on a mission to save Kalki, the unborn child of SUM-80, a lab subject. Bib B plays Ashwattahama, the son of sage and warrior Dronacharya and an ally to the Kauravas, who was cursed with immortality for attempting to kill an unborn Parikshit.

Co-starring Prabhas, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani, the movie is enjoying its run at the box office and is soon going to breach Rs 400 mark in India (in all languages).
