Kangana Ranaut hails Akshay Kumar for backing women-centric films
Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut recently hailed industry-mate Akshay Kumar for supporting woman-centric and relevant films.

Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut who often makes headlines owing to her strong takes on Bollywood and modern-day cinema recently hailed industry-mate Akshay Kumar for promoting woman-centric films. Drawing reference to Akshay Kumar's recent outing 'Mission Mangal', Kangana Ranaut reportedly said that 'Mission Mangal' was essentially was a film celebrating a women scientists' achievement. However, she said that Akshay Kumar deserves undoubted credit for bringing these films to the forefront, which otherwise 'never get okay-ed'.
Kangana Ranaut further spoke about how theatre-goers often do not see much potential in women-centric films and said that because of the lack of the encouragement of the producers, those films often the limelight. However, she hailed Akshay Kumar for always choosing films which were relevant and lending their star power to 'Mission Mangal'.

Akshay Kumar's latest outing 'Mission Mangal' which released on August 15, this year, emerged as his biggest opener. The film celebrates the success of ISRO's Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) which made India the first country to launch its satellite in Mars' orbit in the first go. Apart from Akshay Kumar, the film also has an ensemble female star-cast of Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Kriti Kulari and Nithya Menon. 'Mission Mangal' is produced by Cape of Good Films, Hope Productions, and Fox Star Studios.

On the professional front, Akshay Kumar has a number of films in the pipeline for release. He will be starring in the upcoming venture, 'Housefull 4', 'Good News', 'Laxmi Bomb' and Rohit Shetty's 'Sooriyavanshi'. Moreover, on the occasion of his birthday, Akshay Kumar has confirmed that he will be donning the warrior hat for his next historical drama titled 'Prithviraj'. The film will reportedly revolve around the First Battle Of Tarain led by Chauhan. It is expected to go on floors by November this year. The biopic will be shot in Mumbai and Rajasthan. The actor unveiled the teaser and first look of the film and informed that the period film will be directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi and will release on Diwali 2020.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Kangana Ranaut's latest outing 'Judgementall Hai Kya' has hit theatres on July 26 and was widely appreciated by the audience and the critics. The film also starred Rajkummar Rao in the lead. Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut is gearing up for the upcoming biopic of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa where she is all set to essay the lead role. Kangana Ranaut will be next seen in Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari's 'Panga' and acton film 'Dhaakad'.
