Simran: Who is the writer?

Kangana Ranaut had taken a small hiatus from acting in 2015. The actor returned to the silver screen with Hansal Mehta's Simran. Reportedly the movie was based on the real-life story of Sandeep Kaur. The movie's writer Apurva Asrani made an allegation against the director and actor for falsely claiming credit for the screenplay of the film. Reportedly actor Kangana Ranaut was overheard saying the actor had developed the screenplay of the film, not Asrani. The controversy hampered the success of the movie and the movie failed to earn expected box office collections. Recently, in an emotional social media, director Hansal Mehta expressed his views on the controversy.

Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi- Director and Actor tussle

Kangana Ranaut started this year with Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. The movie was embroiled in controversy over auteurship. Director Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi (Krish) accused Kangana of hijacking his film. Allegedly, the directed believes Kangana went behind his back, to the producers of Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. The situations got so worse, that Krish quit the project halfway. This resulted in Kangana directing the movie.

Judgementall Hai Kya: Jibe with a reporter

Kangana Ranaut was embroiled in a controversy over her latest release, Judgementall Hai Kya. The actor was banned by the media, over an incident that occurred during the press conference of the film. Reportedly, the actor had a brawl with an entertainment journalist, which escalated to the Media Guild banning Kangana Ranaut.

The actor is currently busy shooting for her next film. The film, titled Thalaivi is a cinematic retelling of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister P. Jayalalithaa. The makers recently announced they roped in popular Tamil actor Arvind Swamy for the film. This news has gotten fans excited.
