Actor Aparshakti Khurana's latest film, Kanpuriye, was recently released on the streaming platform, Hotstar VIP. It is the premium version of the popular streaming platform. Kanpuriye also stars Divyendu Sharma, Harsh Mayar, Vijay Raaz, Rajshri Deshpande and Harshita Gaur in pivotal roles. It is directed by Ashish Aryan.

The film narrates the story of three Kanpur residents, Jaitun (Aparshakti), Jugnu (Harsh Mayar), and Vijay (Divyenndu Sharma), who all dream of escaping Kanpur to lead the good, prosperous life one day. But their families are against them leaving their hometown, or the city of broken dreams, as they define it. Upon its release, Kanpuriye has received a warm reaction from the viewers.

Aparshakti Khurana is the younger brother of actor-singer Ayushmann Khurrana. He debuted as an actor in the Aamir Khan blockbuster, Dangal, which released in 2016. Post that, the actor developed a knack for comedy and has appeared in films such as the Rajkummar Rao-Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree, the Kartik Aaryan-Kriti Sanon starrer Luka Chuppi and the Sidharth Malhotra-Parineeti Chopra film Jabariya Jodi. Aparshakti Khurana's upcoming films are Pati Patni Aur Woh, where he will reunite with Kartik Aaryan and the Remo D'Souza directorial Street Dancer 3D, which stars Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor and Nora Fatehi.
