Kaun Banega Crorepati 11, is hosted by superstar Amitabh Bachchan and has been proved to be one of the most successful shows on the Indian Television. KBC is a quiz show and is one of most liked shows by the audiences and it ranks on the TRP list. The quiz show airs at the prime time and has beaten many popular shows on the TRP list. But, recently Kaun Banega Crorepati season 11 is making headlines for some wrong reasons and has left Twitterati upset as well as angry.
According to netizens, the show portrayed an inaccurate reference to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The question asked on the show was "'Which of these rulers was the contemporary of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb?". To this, the options were Maharana Pratap, Rana Sanga, Maharaja Ranjit Singh and Shivaji. According to netizens, it was disrespectful reference to one of the greatest Indian warriors, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as Shivaji in the options and this created a great chaos on the social media.
Netizens also started bashing and trolling KBC 11 as well as Amitabh Bachchan for making an insult of the great Maratha leader. And in no time, #BoycottKBC started making rounds on Twitter. Some users also demanded apology from Amitabh and Sony TV. Now, KBC fans feel that while Aurangzeb was given respect by addressing him as 'Emperor', 'Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's' name was juts written as Shivaji. This thing was thought to showcase utter disrespect to the great warrior. Another reason for fans to get furious is that the 'Pride of Hindustan' was compared to the one who wanted to take over the country.
Here are some of the tweets from the users sharing their displeasure and anger against the channel that airs the show:
Bharat (India) is land of valiant Hindu Kings & warriors who fought back barbaric islamic invasions.
