KBC 11: Taapsee Pannu jokes about her contribution in the success of Hrithik-Tiger's 'War'
On KBC 11, Taapsee Pannu joked about her contribution in the success of 'War'. She quipped that she had purchased a ticket and watched it in a theatre.
There were big expectations from War, but the movie surpassed all of it by going to become the highest-grosser of this year. The movie, in its glorious run, has also entered the Rs 300-crore club. Apart from Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff’s action moves, physique and looks becoming a talking point, Taapsee Pannu too had a role to play in it. No, the actor did not feature in a blink-and-you-miss-it role in the movie that could not be spotted by anyone. Unlike other celebrities who catch these films at the screenings, Taapsee Pannu watched the movie by buying its ticket. The actor was happy to consider it as her contribution to the success of the movie.
Taapsee recently appeared on Kaun Banega Crorepati, hosted by her co-star of Pink and Badla, Amitabh Bachchan She featured on the episode alongside Achyuta Samanta from Kalarabanka, Odisha, who is the owner of a social welfare institute that provides help to tribal students in the state. As Taapsee accompanied Samanta on the hot seat, one of the questions for them was from an audio clip. The track to guess was Ghungroo from the movie War, that Taapsee correctly answered.
After the answer, Amitabh Bachchan expressed his thoughts on how the movie had become a big success at the box office. That’s when Taapsee stated that she too had a contribution in the success. As Big B expressed his eagerness to know what it could be, Taapsee replied, "Maine ticket khareedke theatre mein jaake picture dekhi na sir" (I bought the ticket and watched the film in the theatre, sir) as the duo and the audiences burst out in laughter.
Taapsee on the work front
Taapsee and Amitabh Bachchan had featured in the movie Badla earlier this year. The movie that dealt with a murder investigation, was a big success at the box office. The movie had minted close to Rs 100 crore at the ticket windows. Big B had played a lawyer in the movie, as he grilled Taapsee’s character. Taapsee was also seen in Saand Ki Aankh, which also earned critical acclaim and did decently at the box office.
