Made with a budget of 30 crores, Dhol banked heavily on its performances and story, thus acquiring favourable box office numbers of Rs 47 crores reportedly. Even though the film tanked at the box office, it was appreciated for its performances. The film starred Kunal Kemmu alongside Paresh Rawal and Sonu Sood. He was also seen opposite his off-screen wife Soha Ali Khan in the film. Kunal's acting in the film was much appreciated by the critics despite the film not doing well at the box office. Kunal Kemmu's dialogues and comic timing were impeccable and his chemistry with Soha Ali Khan was reflected on-screen too. However, even with the favourable performances by Kunal Kemmu and the other cast members, the film did not strike gold at the box office and acquired only Rs 12 crores including the overseas collection.
Kunal Kemmu was recently seen in the web series, Abhay. He played an investigating officer who could go any length to solve a case while also battling his inner demons. Kunal Kemmu was also seen in the film, Kalank. The actor's performance as the main antagonist was much appreciated by the critics.
