Akshay Kumar is having a rocking 2019. The Gold actor recently celebrated his 50th birthday on September 9 this year. The birthday celebrations took place after the release of the actor's latest film, Mission Mangal. The Independence day release narrated the inspirational story of India's successful mission to Mars and became the highest-grossing film of Akshay Kumar's career. In March, he appeared in the epic Kesari, which also raked in the moolah at the box-office. Akshay has his hands full for the year with two big-budget releases, Housefull 4 and Good News.

Laxmmi Bomb releases on June 5, 2020.

A remake of the 2011 Tamil film Muni 2: Kanchana, which starred and was directed by Raghava Lawrence. He will also direct the Hindi version, which will also star Kiara Advani. The film is written by Farhad Samji and marks the debut of actor Tusshar Kapoor as a producer. A controversy arose after Raghava Lawrence decided to quit the film because of certain issues with the producers. However, all is well as he has returned to direct the film and the film is on track. Akshay shared the first look of the film on Twitter recently.

Akshay turned 50 this year

2020 is the first year of a new decade and filmgoers will get to witness Akshay in four epic movies. He will begin 2020 with the Rohit Shetty directorial Sooryavanshi, which will see him essay the role of a cop. Fans are eagerly awaiting the release of this film, which is slated for March 27. On Diwali, he will team up with Yash Raj Films for the biopic on Prithviraj Chauhan. On Christmas, he will team up with his Housefull series writer Farhad Samji for the action-comedy Bachchan Pandey. But right now, fans are awaiting the release of his Eid 2020 release, Laxmmi Bomb.
