Deepika Padukone was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat. The film was an enormous commercial hit and also starred her husband Ranveer Singh. She will be next seen in Chhapaak and ’83, which are set to release in 2020.

  1. Deepika Padukone got her first big break in Indrajit Lankesh’s Aishwarya. The Kannada film also starred Upendra and Daisy Bopanna. The film was a commercial success and was also one of the top hit Kannada films of 2006.
  2. Himesh Reshammiya had cast Deepika Padukone in his 2005 music video, Naam Hai Tera. The song was a part of his album, Aap Kaa Surroor. Farah Khan reportedly saw Deepika in that video and decided to cast her in the film, Om Shanti Om.
  3. Deepika Padukone was born in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1986. However, she was raised in Bengaluru, India. Her family is still based in Bengaluru and Deepika is seen visiting them whenever she gets the time.
  4. It is a known fact that Deepika Padukone is the daughter of ace badminton player, Prakash Padukone. However, what one may not know is that Deepika has played the sport at a national level.   6. Reportedly, Deepika Padukone was being considered for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya. But the director decided to go with Sonam Kapoor instead. Deepika Padukone ultimately went on to act in Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om, which also released on the same date.
  7. Deepika Padukone is a huge foodie, especially for Delhi street food. Recently while shooting for her upcoming film, Chhapaak in the capital, Deepika made sure that she caught up on some of her favourites.
  8. Deepika Padukone performed all her own stunts in the film Chandni Chowk to China. She mastered the Japanese martial art form Jujutsu for the same. She played a double role in the film.
