Padma Shri
It is the fourth highest civilian award in the constitution of India. Kamal Haasan was awarded Padma Shri in the year 1990 by the Government of India. The superstar has made a lot of contributions to the field of arts and cinema throughout his career. He is even praised for his film making techniques.
Padma Bhushan
Padma Bhushan is the third-highest civilian award honoured by the Government of India. Kamal Haasan was honoured with the prestigious award in the year 2014. He was given the award by the President of India back then, Shri Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.
National Film Award
Haasan was honoured with a National Award for The Best Regional Film Tamil as a producer. Kamal Haasan plays the leading role in the drama movie Thevar Magan. It was released in 1992 and his performance was appreciated by the audience. The film was chosen as an official entry for the Best Foreign Language Film for the 65th Academy Awards but couldn’t make it to the nominations.
Ordre des Arts et des Lettres
Kamal Haasan was honoured with the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres award by the Government of France in the year 2016. The award is given for a significant contribution to the field of Arts. Kamal Haasan is the second Tamil star to receive the prestigious French award after the legendary artist Sivaji Ganesan.
Filmfare Award for Best Actor
Kamal Hassan received critical acclaim for his performance in the 1986 romantic film Saagar. The film opened to positive reviews and was a super hit at the box office. The film earned Kamal the Filmfare Award for the Best Actor in the year 1986. It was directed by Ramesh Sippy and written by Javed Akhtar.
