The ongoing conflict between Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut and director Krish owing to the credits their credits for the film 'Manikarnika: The Queen Jhasi' is making the headlines lately. Recently, Mishti Chakravarty, an actress from the film, also commented on the row and slammed Kangana.
As per media reports, the actress who has previously worked with actress Vidya Balan in 'Begum Jaan' compared the attitude and professionalism of the two actresses, Kangana and Vidya. Hesitating to comment anything directly, she reportedly said that one doesn't need to put others down to glorify themselves and if one has potential they will automatically stand out of the crowd. Emphasizing her point, she drew reference to Vidya Balan and said that the 'Tumhari Sulu' actress neither tries nor she needs to chop off anybody's character to highlight herself.
Her statement has ignited speculations that the rumours about Kangana Ranaut chopping off scenes of other actors in the film might be true. 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi' has been riddled with controversies ever since the film released. Krish, the former director of the project, complained that lead actress Kangana, who took up the role of the director of the project after Krish left the project, took the first credit as director, although he shot the majority of the film. However, his demand has been ridiculed by Kangana's team who said that he is a mere opportunist who is trying to claim the success of the film.
Again, as per media reports, when Mishti was asked about Krish’s complain against Kangana's claim that she has directed 70 per cent of the film and hence took first credit as director, the actress laughed off. She reportedly said that Krish directed the film right from the beginning to almost the end and thus deserves to be credited as the director of this film first. Media reports state that the actress also complained about how her role was chopped out of the project in the final edit. She further revealed that Kangana made fake promises to her and said that she should have been honest about her intentions instead.
Manikarnika' was one of the most anticipated films of 2019, and the period drama is based on the life and struggles of Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi and her war against the British East India Company, during the Indian Rebellion of 1857. Apart from Kangana Ranaut the film also stars Atul Kulkarni, Suresh Oberoi, Danny Demzongpa, Jisshu Sengupta and Ankita Lokhande, in pivotal roles. The film that released on January 25, has been successful at the Box Office.
