'Black Friday' actor Savi Sidhu in a viral video last week said how he was struggling with finances and didn't have money to go and meet the producers. The actor instead took up a job as a security guard in Mumbai so that he can build his bank balance again.
And now, according to a report, Mika Singh has decided to help Savi and has offered him a role in his upcoming production titled 'Aadat', starring Karan Singh Grover and Bipasha Basu, directed by Bhushan Patel.
On March 20, Mika had tweeted about the same when he was trying to find the actor's number. He wrote: "Hey guys please find me Savi Sidhu’s number, I really would love to help him. At times it’s so difficult to understand our industry. We show so much love and fake smiles, but bhai when u see your brother or friend in times of need then please support yaar."
Talking to a leading daily, Savi said that he received a call from Mika Singh and thought it was a prank but he was direct and told him not to do this job anymore and join his group. Savi further revealed that Mika sent a car to take him to his house, he gave him new clothes and food. He confirmed that he will start working with him in the next 10 days.
Savi also said that Nikkhil Advani, director of Shah Rukh Khan starrer Kal Ho Naa Ho, has also approached and promised him work.
According to the report, Mika said that he found it off that a talented actor like Savi had to take up the job of a watchman for Rs. 9000 a month. Mika also found it surprising that no one was offering him work because he felt that a small role would have been better than a watchman's job.
Mika further said that he plans to help him find work as an acting coach. “Very inspired by your story, Savi Sidhu sir. Have always admired your work in all your films. Love your positivity. Will definitely ask all my casting friends to reach out to you... Perseverance is the key to overcoming obstacles,” Rajkummar Rao had also tweeted after Savi’s story went viral on social media.
Meanwhile, Anurag Kashyap went on to post a series of tweets saying: "There are so many actors out there who don’t have work. I respect Savi Sidhu as an actor and have cast him thrice when he earned the role. I respect him that he chose to live his life with dignity and picked a job unlike so many entitled, out-of-work actors who have either become alcoholics or wasted themselves away.” Savi says he is still waiting for a call
Savi has worked in films like 'Black Friday', 'Patiala House' and 'Bewakoofiyaan'.
