Helena Luke, who was also an actress in the Hindi film industry, passed away on November 3. She was settled in the USA and the news of her passing was confirmed by dancer and actress Kalpana Iyer on social media, as per reports.

Helena was known to be battling several health-related issues but the exact cause of her death remains unknown at the time. She had shared screenspace with Amitabh Bachchan in the film Mard. Her last social media update was on the morning of her demise. Taking to Facebook she wrote, “Feeling weird. Mixed emotions and no clue why, discombobulated.” The post is now viral online.

Mithun Chakraborty got married to Helena in 1979. However, due to several differences, the actors called it quits within 4 months of their marriage and filed for a divorce. The Disco Dancer fame went on to marry actres Yogeeta Bali later that year. They are parents to four children. 
 

Before their wedding, Helena claimed in an interview, that Mithun promised her father that he would treasure her like the ‘wonder of the world’. She, however, caused him to be ‘possessive’ and ‘controlling’. In an interview following her divorce, the actress vowed to never reconcile with Mithun.
