She was last seen in Mubarakan alongside Arjun Kapoor, Illeana D’Cruz and Anil Kapoor in 2017. This was reportedly the second film of her career. She made her debut in Bollywood with Hero opposite Sooraj Pancholi. In an interview with PTI, when asked about her two-year break, Athiya Shetty reportedly said that there is no harm in working on herself as an actor. She had attended a lot of workshops in the duration. The actor reportedly felt that she needed to work on her craft to prove her place in the industry. She also had to work on her Bundelkhandi accent which she uses in Motichoor Chaknachoor.
