MS Dhoni - The Untold Story recap: Disha Patani's role as MSD's ex
Disha Patani made her Bollywood debut with MS Dhoni - The Untold Story in 2016. It is a biopic based on Dhoni's life. Here are the details on the actor's role.
Sushant Singh Rajput’s MS Dhoni – The Untold Story, as the name suggests, is a biopic based on the life of MS Dhoni. This film focuses on the struggles that Dhoni has faced throughout his career and the way he overcomes them. The film also starred Kiara Advani and Disha Patani in the lead roles.
Disha Patani’s role in the film
While Kiara Advani played his wife, Sakshi Singh Rawat, Disha Patani played the character of Mahi’s ex-girlfriend, Priyanka Jha. When MS Dhoni was in his early 20s, he was training to get into India’s XI. Around that time, he met Priyanka and fell in love with her. Soon after this, he got selected for the Zimbabwe-Pakistan-Kenya Tour 2003. Helping the score along with consecutive centuries, Dhoni scored a total of 362 runs in six innings on this tour.
While MS Dhoni started getting recognised after this, he faced a huge tragedy in his life. When he returned from the tour, he discovered that Priyanka had been in an accident and could not survive the injuries. This news shocked him to the core, and he was mourning for over a year. While the country lost hope that he will recover, Dhoni bounced back and never looked back after that.
This film also marked the Bollywood debut of Disha Patani. While Dhoni did not react to Disha’s performance, his wife, Sakshi, was all praise for her. In an interview, Disha revealed that Sakshi told her that she liked Disha in the film and was happy to see her.
While Disha was last seen in Salman Khan’s Bharat playing the character of Radha, she was also seen dancing to the tune of Slow Motion. She will be seen next in Malang alongside Anil Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Kunal Khemu. This will be a romantic thriller directed by Mohit Suri. The film is slated to hit the screens on February 14, 2020.
