Nawazuddin Siddiqui was born on 19th May 1974 in the village of Budhana, district Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh. The eldest of eight siblings, Nawazuddin had no interest in farming despite hailing from a family of agricultural zamindars. After completing his graduation in Bachelors of Science in Chemistry, Nawazuddin reached Vadodara to work as a chemist and then moved to New Delhi. In Delhi, he found his calling in acting and enrolled at the prestigious National School of Drama. After graduating, he began his struggles in the city of dreams, Mumbai.

In Mumbai, Nawazuddin Siddiqui managed to play small characters for a few years, in films such as Sarfarosh (1999), Munnabhai M.B.B.S (2003), Black Friday (2004) among others. It was the 2009 film New York that gave him the much-needed attention. A few more roles followed, but it was the 2012 cult classic Gangs Of Wasseypur that made Nawazuddin Siddiqui a household name. He has not looked back since then.
Personal life
Nawazuddin has been relatively reticent about his personal life, so few juicy details filter out. However, the actor is married to Aliya Anjali Siddiqui. The couple has two kids, a boy Yaani and a daughter Shora. The family of four live in a plush three-bedroom sea-facing apartment in the Versova suburb of Mumbai. Nawazuddin has a younger sibling, Shamas Nawab Siddiqui, who will turn director for the film 'Bole Chudiyan'.
