Nawazuddin Siddiqui is considered by fans to be one of the most sought-after actors in the industry and a luminary with a classic rags-to-riches story. He has come a long way in the film industry. From a chemist and a watchman to one of the most in-demand actors, his story is no less than a Bollywood film story itself. He has worked with many co-stars including the Khans. Some of his memorable works include Sacred Games, Haraamkhor, and Roam Rome Mein.

1. Sacred Games

Sacred Games is Netflix India’s first original thriller series, which is a bonafide hit. It is said that the series is based on Vikram Chandra’s 2006 novel of the same name. While the protagonists Ganesh Gaitonde (played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui) and Sartaj Singh (played by Saif Ali Khan) share a large space on-screen, the other, relatively smaller characters do not go unnoticed. A large chunk of praise has also come in for Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Kubra Sait for their epic, eccentric roles in the web series. Ever since the series released in 2018, Ganesh Gaitonde and Kukoo have been one of the most loved on-screen pairs. Starting off as a gangster’s moll, Kukoo is a transgender who falls in love with the criminal, Ganesh Gaitonde.

2. Haraamkhor

Haraamkhor won several accolades nationally and internationally including an award at the Mumbai Film Festival last year. This Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Shweta Tripathi-starrer revolves around an illicit relationship between a school teacher and his teenage student. “Acting alongside Nawaz Bhai is learning. He is a master of the craft and makes you look good by just being in the same frame,” Shweta said in a statement. According to reports, this film was banned by the Censor Board as they feared that its subject was very provocative. Later, the ban was lifted after certain decisions. Haraamkhor is Shweta Tripathi’s Bollywood debut film. Reportedly, Sweta Tripathi will again be starring opposite Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Raat Akeli Hai, which will also cast Radhika Apte.
