Indian Idol is one such show that airs on Sony Entertainment Television, which had a successful run for about ten seasons. It has brought out several talented singers and several of them are a part of the Indian music industry today. Monali Thakur

A contestant of Indian Idol season 2, Monali Thakur reportedly comes from a musical family. Her father, Shakti Thakur is a renowned Bengali singer. She got an offer from music composer Pritam for two songs, Khwaab Dekhe and Zara Zara Touch Me for the movie, Race. Both of them became a big hit. Apart from this, she is also known for songs like Moh Moh Ke Dhage (Dum Laga Ke Haisha) and Cham Cham (Baaghi). She also won Best Female Playback Singer for Sawar Loon and Moh Moh Ke Dhage in 2014 and 2015 respectively.

Meiyang Chang

The Indian Idol 3 contestant, Meiyang Chang is currently a television host and one of the most loved singers in India. Despite him not making a huge mark in the Bollywood scene, he has established himself as a popular TV host. Meiyang Chang also acted in Parmeet Sethi’s 2010 release Badmaash Company. The film featured Shahid Kapoor and Anushka Sharma in the lead role. He also had a small but important role in the film, Byomkesh Bakshi as well.

Neha Kakkar

Appreciated for her remarkable voice and singing prowess, Bollywood singer Neha Kakkar started her career as a contestant on the TV reality shows Indian Idol Season 2. Today, she has emerged as a popular playback and an independent singer. Some of her superhit songs are Kar Gayi Chull, Main Tera Boyfriend, Badri Ki Dulhania, Cheez Badi, and many more. She has ruled every heart with her voice. She has also launched her album entitled Neha The Rock Star in 2008. Currently, she is seen as a judge on the latest season of Indian Idol.
