Akshay Kumar is gearing up for the release of the sequel of his 2012 film Oh My God -- OMG 2. The film reportedly went through 27 modifications before CBFC granted it an A certificate. After the trailer received a positive response, the makers dropped a new promo from the film.

Pankaj Tripathi hints at OMG 2 plot
The latest promo of OMG 2 shows a scene that plays out inside a courtroom. It features Pankaj Tripathi as Kanti Sharan Mudgal and Yami Gautam as lawyer Kamini Maheshwari. They exchange arguments inside the court. Pankaj's character humorously highlights the ancient ideologies linking sex to spirituality through sculptures from various temples. The scene also hints at the film's theme. Reportedly, the storyline revolves around sex education.
The actor's performance in the promo reaffirms his comic prowess, as he masterfully blends humour with the film's narrative while presenting his case in front of the judge. Going by the look, it looks like he will be a good replacement for Paresh Rawal's popular character Kanji Lalji Mehta in OMG (2012).
Akshay Kumar's OMG 2 to clash with Gadar 2
Akshay Kumar-starrer OMG 2 holds an A (adults-only) certificate in India. Akshay Kumar will be essaying the role of Lord Shiva's messenger and will help Kanti Sharan Mudgal (Pankaj Tripathi) in some manner.
The Independence Day weekend witnesses a high-stakes showdown between two major Bollywood releases OMG 2 and Gadar 2. Both films are banking on holiday fever to secure good box office returns. Anticipation for both movies is evident in their impressive advance booking numbers.

OMG 2 is off to a decent start with 36,302 tickets booked for its opening day through advance sales. The movie has earned Rs 1.13 crore in advance bookings so far, with major contributions from NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
Gadar 2, on the other hand, with 2,81,089 tickets already sold for its opening day, seems poised to make a huge opening. It has earned Rs 7.18 crore through its advance booking.
