On Labour Day, Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan's upcoming ‘Coolie No 1’ adaptation gets a release date
Bollywood filmmaker David Dhawan is all set to remake his arguably most popular film, ‘Coolie No 1’ and makers have now announced a release date of the upcoming venture.
Bollywood filmmaker David Dhawan is all set to remake his arguably most popular film, ‘Coolie No 1’ and the adaptation of the timeless comedy will star his son Varun Dhawan and current sensation Sara Ali Khan in the lead. Now, days after making the official announcement of the making of the film, now makers have announced a release date of the upcoming venture.
Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh in a recent Twitter post revealed that the film is scheduled to hit the theatres exactly a year from now, on May 1, 2020. Sharing a teaser picture of a batch that reads: 'W. RLY NO. 1 LICENSED PORTER', he wrote "Exactly one year from now... #CoolieNo1 to release on 1 May 2020... Stars Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan... Director David Dhawan and Vashu Bhagnani collaborate on a film after a long gap. #1YearForCoolieNo1"

The original film starred Govinda and Karisma Kapoor in the lead and was directed by Varun's father and filmmaker David Dhawan. As per media reports, David has reunited with filmmaker Vashu Bhagnani for the project which is scheduled to go on floors on in August, this year. While David is all set to return as the director, Vashu Bhagnani, who bankrolled the 1995 classic comedy, will also produce the upcoming venture.
This will be the second collaboration of Varun Dhawan with father David Dhawan after the 2017 hit film 'Judwaa 2'.
