Filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker has a list of successful historical films under his belt. His next directorial, Panipat, is one of the most anticipated war-dramas of 2019. Starring Sanjay Dutt and Arjun Kapoor in the leading roles, the movie has managed to garner appreciation from fans for its unique cast. The plot of the movie is traced back to the 1760s when the third battle of Panipat was fought. The movie puts forth the story of one of the largest battles fought in the 18th century, leaving the fans thrilled for the movie's release. Earlier this year, a poster from the movie was released.
Arjun Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt unite
Sanjay Dutt’s acting virtuoso is not unknown to the world. After his infamous portrayal of 'Kaancha Cheena' in Agneepath, the ace actor is all set to play a negative character in the war-drama. The Rocky actor will be seen playing 'Ahmad Shah Abdali' in Panipat, leaving fans excited for the movie's release. Arjun Kapoor will be seen in a new avatar in the film, portraying the untamed legendary warrior 'Sadashiv Rao Bhau.'
The unique cast
Arjun’s character in the movie will be the focal point, as the story of the film revolves around the life of 'Sadashiv Rao'. Panipat also stars Kriti Sanon in an eminent role. The Lukka Chuppi actor will be seen playing 'Parvati Bai,' the wife of Sadashiv Rao Bhau, in the film. The makers of the movie have roped in the Hindi cinema veteran, Zeenat Aman. The actress will be seen portraying the character of 'Sakina Begum,' a vital part of the war-film.
Produced by Sunita Gowarikar, the historical-drama also stars Kunal Kapoor and Milind Gunaji in prominent roles. The movie is being produced under the banner of Ashutosh Gowarikar Productions. The war-drama marks the fifth historical entertainer directed by Ashutosh Gowariker. Panipat is all set to release on December 6, 2019.
