Panipat: Preview of the Sanjay Dutt- Arjun Kapoor historical drama

Panipat movie, starring Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon, is all set to hit the theatres this year. The movie is directed by Mohenjo Daro director Ashutosh Gowariker. The cast and crew of the movie have been extensively promoting the movie by posting behind the scene pictures and videos from the set. It has been reported that apart from the three ace actors, the movie will star 110 other actors, who will all have a substantial role to play in the film. The casting director of the movie stated that it took months of research and auditions before locking down the cast for the movie.

Gowariker who is known for directing some huge historical dramas like Jodhaa Akbar and Mohenjo Daro is leaving no stone unturned for his upcoming movie. Panipat- The Great Betrayal is based on the third battle of Panipat was fought between the Marathas and the King of Afghanistan, Ahmad Shah Abdali, in January 1761. The set of Shaniwarwada has been set up at ND Studios, Karjat. Kriti Sanon, who plays Parvati Bai in the movie, recently revealed on her social media that the shooting of the movie has been wrapped up. She complimented her director for helping her find the character and create magic.

Arjun Kapoor, who plays the role of Sadashiv in the movie had said that the director is an epic storyteller. He also said that he is extremely proud to be a part of the movie. Panipat is produced by Gowariker's wife Sunita and debut producer Rohit Shelatkar. Talking about Panipat, Shelatkar said that the movie is based on one of the biggest battles that portray unparalleled valour and bravery. He also said that there is a lot to take away from the movie. He further revealed that he admired co-star Sanjay Dutt since he was a child. Sanjay Dutt plays the role of Abdali in the movie, to which Arjun said that it was hard to imagine Dutt as the villain of the movie because of his humble attitude.

On social media, Ashutosh Gowariker revealed that he will be collaborating with the legendary poet Javed Akhtar for the eighth time for this film. He also revealed that the songs for Panipat movie will be created by Ajay and Atul. Gowariker revealed that he had roped in an eminent researcher and historian to help with the script of the movie. The movie is slated to hit the theatres on December 06, 2019.
