Bollywood filmmaker Ashutosh Gowarikar has a list of remarkable movies in his name, especially in the historical genre. His upcoming directorial, Panipat, is considered to be one of the most anticipated films of the year. Panipat movie will star Arjun Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt in pivotal roles. Also, Kriti Sanon and Zoya Hussain will be a part of this film. Since Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi and Kesari, Panipat will be the first war-drama to be released in Bollywood. Story of Panipat: One of the eventful battles of the 18th century
Panipat movie is based on the third battle of Panipat which took place on January 14, 1761. It was one of the most historic battles that happened between the Marathas and the King of Afghanistan, Ahmad Shah Abdali. The story of Panipat movie will have Sanjay Dutt playing the character of Ahmad Shah Abdali and Arjun Kapoor essaying the role of Sadashiv Rao Bhau. According to reports and historical data, the battle of Panipat was about how the northern expeditionary forces of the Maratha Empire tried to invade the forces of the King of Afghanistan. This conflict lasted for several days that involved a huge count of troops resulting in losses and gains on both sides. The glorious battle witnessed the victory of the Durrani Afghan forces, who righteously defeated the Marathas. The commander-in-chief, Sadashiv Rao Bhau's valour gave him the label of a huge contributor in the history of the Panipat battle. Panipat movie would portray an expedition of the victorious battle that took place in the Indian fraternity.
Panipat cast wrap up shoot
The cast of Panipat movie has recently wrapped the shooting of their film. Kriti Sanon took to Instagram to share a photograph that had Arjun Kapoor and herself in it. Reportedly, the shooting of the film took place in the interiors of a few forts in Maharashtra. The film has completed its principal videography and now is in the post-production process. Panipat movie will hit the screens on December 6 this year.
