Prime Minister Narendra Modi led from the front, like he leads the country, with his plogging exercise at the Mamallapuram Beach in Tamil Nadu. The Prime Minister was spotted lifting plastic trash while walking on the beach, in the latest step in the battle against single-use plastic. PM Modi’s act became a talking point on social media and it didn’t go unnoticed in Bollywood either. Several B-Town stars also praised him for his self and society serving exercise. One of them was Anil Kapoor who stated that the cleanliness mission was not just restricted to the homes, but the whole environment. The actor said that it was crucial to reduce the ‘collection’ since only that could help us in being happy, healthy and fit.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently hosted Chinese President Xi Jinping for an informal summit in Tamil Nadu. Apart from the official discussions and exchanges, one of the highlights was the PM’s plogging exercise. Sharing the video, he had tweeted, “Plogging at a beach in Mamallapuram this morning. It lasted for over 30 minutes. Also handed over my ‘collection’ to Jeyaraj, who is a part of the hotel staff. Let us ensure our public places are clean and tidy! Let us also ensure we remain fit and healthy.”

Anil Kapoor backed the message, writing, “Keeping our surroundings clean is not just limited to our houses. It’s about keeping our home, #India clean & safe. Cleanliness is definitely very essential for remaining happy, healthy & fit. We all need to work towards reducing the ‘collection’. @narendramodi"

Earlier, Akshay Kumar had also hailed the Prime Minister for leading from the front. The Housefull 4 star responded to the PM’s Twitter video, “Hon. Prime Minister @narendramodi ji, the best leaders are those who lead with an example! Also it is such a great activity to stay fit and at the same time keeping our public places clean.”
One of the other actors to respond was Gorakhpur Member of Parliament, Ravi Kishan, wrote that PM Modi was a ‘leader’ for nation’s betterment and that India was 'fortunate' to have a Prime Minister like him.
