Preity Zinta Reveals Near-Death Experience During The 2004 Tsunami

Bollywood actress Preity Zinta recently revealed that she had a near-death experience during the 2004 Tsunami and how it changed her life. During an event, she said that at the time of the Tsunami, she was holidaying in Phuket, Thailand, along with her friends. Phuket, was also one of the most badly affected place during the Tsunami. 

On December 26, 2004, a massive tsunami had hit the Indian ocean which affected around 14 countries and killed more than two lakh people and destroyed property worth crores. The 'Salaam Namaste' actress said that at that time, she lost most of her friends and in fact she was the only one among her friends to survive. The disaster had a life changing impact on her and post that she had decided to invest in the Indian Premiere League. The actress thought about why she survived and decided to do what she really wanted to do.

Talking about buying an IPL team Preity said that she had met Lalit Modi at the Bravery awards, for which she was the brand ambassador. She told him that it was her and her father's dream to have a sports school. But in order to open a school, one needs to have Rs 1000 crore. When the IPL was being bid, Lalit Modi called him asked to bid for it, which the actress did. 

Preity Zinta has been married to Gene Goodenough, who is of American origin. They got married in the year 2016, in a private ceremony. On the work front, Preity Zinta will be making her Bollywood comeback with 'Bhaiaji Superhit'. Apart from Preity Zinta, the film also stars  Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel , Arshad Warsi and Shreyas Talpade and is slated to release on October 19. The film is an action comedy and is helmed by Neeraj Pathak of 'Apne' fame. The film revolves around a Varanasi based don (Sunny Deol) who dreams of seeing himself on the big screen. In order to fulfill his desire, he seeks the help of Arshad Warsi and Shreyas Talpade who play director and writer respectively.
