Priyanka Chopra: List of regional films produced by the 'Desi Girl'

Purple Pebble Pictures is a production house company owned by Priyanka Chopra. The production company predominantly produces regional cinema. lt has produced many regional movies of different languages like Marathi, Bhojpuri, Punjabi, Nepali, and Assamese among others. Marathi Cinema

The production house produced the National Award-winning film Ventilator in the year 2016. The film was appreciated by the critics and the audience alike. Later in 2017, the company produced a comedy-drama Kay Re Rascala too. The film was a debacle at the box-office and also failed to impress the audience. Next, Firebrand and Paani released in the year 2019. Though Firebrand didn't work well, Paani managed to grab the National Award.

Bhojpuri Cinema

Purple Pebble Pictures started its journey with a Bhojpuri movie named Bam Bam Bol Raha Hai Kashi. The film features Dinesh Lal Yadav, popularly known as Nirhua in the Bhojpuri film industry. The second Bhojpuri project, Kaashi Amarnath was released in the year 2017. The film features superstars of the industry like Ravi Kishan, Nirhua, and Amrapali Dubey in pivotal roles among others.

Punjabi, Nepali and Assamese Cinema

Punjabi film Sarvann marked the debut of popular Punjabi singer Manjit Bawa in 2017. The Amrinder Gill directorial was praised by the audience for its storyline. Later in 2018, the production house bankrolled the Nepali film titled Pahuna: The Little Visitors. The audience reportedly stated that the story of the film is heart touching and worth adding in the watch list. The first Assamese movie produced by Purple Pebble is Bhoga Khirikee, which released in 2019.

Upcoming projects of Purple Pebble

Purple Pebble recently co-produced a Bollywood film The Sky Is Pink along with Roy Kapur Films. Reportedly, the company will also produce two Bengali films. As per the sources, the production house is also planning to produce a bilingual film titled Nalini. Heading to explore more regional cinema, a Konkani film is also lined up in the list, as reports suggest.
