Priyanka Chopra: Sophie Turner loves to be the 'Jethani' between us

India’s diverse culture has always fascinated those from other countries, and that’s a major reason why the tourism has flourished in India. A testimony to this was when the Jonas Brothers and their family members blended so beautifully with Priyanka Chopra’s family when she got married to Nick Jonas in December last year. From dressing in traditional attires, participating whole-heartedly in the rituals like Mehndi, or performing the Bollywood-style moves and grooves during the Sangeet and other events, we witnessed it all. Not just that, it seems that the star family is also well-versed with the Indian terms involving relationships. PeeCee recently revealed that Sophie Turner, Game of Thrones superstar and wife of her brother-in-law Joe Jonas, insists that Priyanka calls her ‘Jethani’ and considering the equation, she also feels that the ‘Desi Girl’ should listen to her.

While Priyanka Chopra’s love story with Nick Jonas became a talking point worldwide, the bonding between her and Sophie Turner too was a part of the news. Even before they officially became relatives, the actor duo used to bond big time, like one witnessed at the ‘Desi Girl’s bachelorette and other moments. The highlight was when they coined the term ‘J Sisters’ for their equation. In a recent interview, Priyanka opened up on how the term came into being. She revealed that it was probably she who came up with the term at her bachelorette, since she felt being married (or set to marry at that time) to the Jonas Brothers, they were all Jonas Sisters. Though it started as a joke, it just became a ‘thing’ later on, the Mary Kom star said.

Priyanka Chopra also revealed that not just ‘J Sisters’, they also refer to each other as Jethani-Devrani (elder sister-in-law and younger sister-in-law). She said that Sophie loves to call herself the ‘Jethani’ and even expects that Priyanka listens to her, because she is the elder one (not by age, since Sophie is 23 and Priyanka is 37, but wife of the elder one, Joe Jonas who is 30 and Nick Jonas is 27). After Peecee-Nick's wedding in December, Sophie and Joe Jonas also got married in June this year. Both the couples, along with the third Jonas Brother, Kevin and his wife Daniella are spotted hanging out regularly.
