Made in China is an upcoming comedy film directed by Mikhil Musale. The film revolves around a businessman who travels to China in order to improve his business prospects. The film will feature Rajkummar Rao, Mouni Roy, and Boman Irani in the lead roles. The movie is set to release on October 25, on the occasion of Diwali. In an interview with a daily, Rao said that acting is not an 'ego game' and that it is not about the actor himself. Rao believes that it is always about both the character and the film. He added that he does not think about his own looks. Rao said that he could have done anything else in life but he chose to take up acting. Rajkummar Rao feels that his responsibilities are towards his character and not towards what others think.
Director Mikhil Musale, in an interview, revealed how Rajkummar Rao prepared for his role in the movie. He said that Rao not only gained 8 kgs of weight for the movie, but he also learned the Gujarati language for this role. Rao went around the streets of Ahmedabad and spoke to local store owners, young people who were shopping, and also ate food from the local places to sink his teeth into the colloquialism and the culture of Gujarat. The director added how Rao took a video camera and visited the busy areas of Ahmedabad, from Lal Darwaja to Gandhi market and various other places. To get away from the eyes of paparazzi the actor went completely under the radar, going virtually unrecognisable.
