Reports suggest that during his college days, Rao actively participated in many events and stage shows and also pursued theatre from Sri Ram Centre for Performing Arts and Kshitij Repertory. Later, the actor then shifted to Pune and went on to pursue acting at the Film and Television Institute of India in 2008.
