Rockstar Re-release Box Office Collection: Ranbir Kapoor starrer Mints Over Rs 1 Crore

Rockstar re-released alongside Imtiaz Ali's other two hit movies, Tamasha and Jab We Met. Among all, only Rockstar was able to bring the footfall to theatres.

Ranbir Kapoor starrer Rockstar has gone on to achieve a cult following owing to its compelling plot and chartbuster songs. Helmed by Imtiaz Ali, the movie hit the theatres in 2011 and emerged as one of the highest-grossing movies of the year. Now, after 13 years, the movie has been re-released in the theatres, and once again, in just two weeks, the movie has earned Rs 1.10 crore.

Rockstar is ruling the theatres once again

Rockstar hit the theatres a couple of weeks ago, and what started as a token release in selected theatres, has gained momentum. The musical romantic drama has minted Rs 1.10 crore in two weeks at the box office in India, as per a report in Pinkvilla. After seeing the success of the movie, the exhibitors are continuing with the run in the third week and are also expecting a good footfall through the weekend.

Rockstar's box office report

When the movie released in 2011, it had a strong opening, minting ₹100 million. Thus becoming the second-highest opener in a non-festival season after Ready. At the end of the first week, the film had a good collection by grossing ₹474.6 million nett.

What's next for Ranbir Kapoor?

The actor is currently shooting for Nitish Tiwari's mythological drama Ramayana, co-starring Sai Pallavi, Lara Dutta and Sunny Deol, in Mumbai. He also has Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love & War, co-starring Vicky Kaushal and Alia Bhatt, and Animal Park. All these movies are slated to release in the theatres in 2025 and 2026.
