Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani box office prediction: How will it fare on day 1?

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is set to release this Friday, July 28. The film features Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh in the lead. It is their second movie together after Gully Boy (2019).  This alone has created a fair deal of buzz among fans. The trailer too has hit the right notes wiith its grand presentation. So, will these factors help the film put up good numbers on the opening day? Let's find out.

How will Rocky aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani fare at the box office?

Upon being asked about how the film is going to perform at the box office on day 1, Trade analyst Joginder Tuteja told Republic Media Network that he expects it to collect around Rs 10 crore. 

 “I’m very sure that the film is going to break into the Rs 10 crore range. I believe it has the potential to go into the 12-13 crore range. You have to consider the fact that it’s a long film, almost three hours long. So you’ll have a lesser number of shows as well. Even if it goes beyond the Rs 12-13 crore range, I won’t be very surprise,"  said Tuteja.

 He added that a positive word of mouth may help it put up strong numbers over the weekend.

According to trade analyst Rathi, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is expected to collect anywhere between 13 crores to 14 crores on its opening day. He further said, “Considering that it’s a non-holiday, working Friday, I hope that with good word of mouth, the film will consolidate itself and then go from there.”

Will Alia magic help  Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’s box office performance?

While speaking about Alia Bhatt, Akshaye Rathi noted that the actress started her career with Student of the Year, which was a highly commercial film. Then she went on to do a set of diverse projects where she showcased her versatility.

 “Alia Bhatt, I truly believe, is not just an actress, not just a star, but a true force of nature. She’s spectacular in every frame, incredible in every frame. There’s a huge likeability that audiences have towards her, and I think there’s a sizable audience that buys a ticket because she’s in the film," said Rathi.

While speaking about  Alia Bhatt 's impact the film’s performance, Tuteja said, “With Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, I know it’s a love story. But more than that, I want to look forward to her dramatic portrayal. She’s not playing a young girl in the film, but a young woman.” 

He added that this might turn out to be one of her most mature roles in this setting since she would play the role of Rani Chatterjee, someone who’s waiting to get married and learning to deal with her in-laws. 

Tuteja further said that the other thing to look forward to in the film would be a confrontation between Alia Bhatt’s character and the one played by Jaya Bachchan. Tuteja added that Jaya’s character is someone who seems to be running the show. This makes the film a new experience for her fans.
