Here is all you should know about the real-life sharpshooters from Saand Ki Aankh
Prakashi Tomar
Taapsee Pannu will be playing the role of Prakashi Tomar. Prakashi Tomar was born in January 1937 at Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh. She was married to Jai Singh and has eight children. Her other daughter Rekha was a retired shooter, and she wanted to teach the skill to her other daughter Seema. She lives in Johri village with her children and 15 grandchildren.
Seema Tomar had joined the Johri Rifle Club to learn the skill of shooting, but Seema was hesitant to go to the training alone. She started her career in the year 2000. As her daughter was hesitant, Prakashi decided to help her daughter fight the fear of being alone and encourage her to learn the skill. Seema was showing Prakashi how to hold a gun until she took a shot and astounded the coach, Farooq Pathan, and other people in the club. Later, the coach advised her to join the academy, after which Prakashi won over 25 national and international championships.
Chandro Tomar
Bhumi Pednekar will be playing the role of Chandro Tomar or, as her loved ones call her, Shooter Dadi. Chandro started her career in 1999 when she wanted to help her granddaughter Shefali who wanted to learn how to shoot. She also joined the Johri Rifle Club to learn the skill. When facing a similar situation and the lack of any other girl in the gun range was reducing her granddaughter’s courage, Chandro decided to join her granddaughter at training. While training, Shefali was not able to load a gun and Chandro took the gun and shot it at the target. The bullet she hit for the first time resulted in a bull’s eye shot. The coach was amazed to see a 60-year-old woman take a bull’s eye shot and advised her to train. Later, she went on to win many championships. Today, she owns a £1,200 pistol! She visits the club once a week to practice. She also owns a private shooting range where she trains new, budding shooters, as per reports.
