Shahid Kapoor's emotional speech on receiving first Best Actor award
Shahid Kapoor had received an award for Best Actor for his performance in Haider. In an emotional speech, the actor expressed his gratitude to various people.
Shahid Kapoor won the Best Actor Award for his film Haider in 2014. Reportedly, Shahid had won the Best Actor award for the first time. The only award that he received before that was the debutant award for his film Ishq Vishk. The award was given to him by Amitabh Bachchan in 2014.
The Speech
After receiving the award from Amitabh Bachchan Shahid Kapoor said, “I could not have imagined a better person to receive the award from, it is really, really an honour. It is a learning experience watching you in front of the camera every time and all the time, so thank you so much. This makes it amazingly special. A few thank you’s I have not done yet, I saved them for later and that later is tonight. Today one person I want to thank is Madhu Manten, who is standing right here after winning his award for tonight. Thank you so much for being in my life Madhu.”
Shahid Kapoor also mentioned one more friend to whom he extended his gratitude. And then continued with the speech. He said, “There are people in my life who have helped me make better choices and I really think that your careers are driven by the choices that you make. It took me a few years to learn it. I hope I have learned it now. I don’t know, I don’t know what to say, but it has been eleven years and I have finally followed my heart and I am standing out here so I guess I have finally done something right. Thank you so much for giving me this award.”

On the professional front
Shahid Kapoor was last seen in Kabir Singh, where he essayed the character of the fatally angry Kabir. His upcoming film Bang Bang Reloaded is currently in the production stage. According to IMDb, Shahid Kapoor will be seen along with Katrina Kaif. The film is directed by Sidharth Anand and is set to release in 2020. The official release date of the film is yet to be unveiled.
