Shoojit Sarcar, who is widely known for his film Piku, is an Indian film director and producer that has a very distinctive filmmaking style. Sarcar is currently working on a documentary based on the legend Amitabh Bachchan. He has directed a total of five movies and has won several awards for them. Piku
This movie had a very impactful star cast including Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Irrfan Khan. Here, Amitabh was seen playing the role of Bhaskor Banerjee and Deepika Padukone was Amitabh's daughter, Piku. The father and daughter got closer while they were on a road trip to Kolkata. This film is considered one of Sarcar’s best works, and he has also managed to win a number of awards as the Best Director for the same. His movie was appreciated a lot by the audience and was also applauded by critics.

This film was released in the year 2012 and was Sarcar’s second film after Yahaan. This film was not a Bollywood mainstream film and introduced the audience to a new plot that was never done before. In it, Ayushmann Khurrana was seen playing the role of a young Punjabi boy, Vicky Arora. The plot twists when Dr Baldev Chaddha gets Vicky as one of the most fertile sperm donors for his clinic. The movie was very entertaining and Sarcar was nominated for the Best Director award at International Indian Film Academy Awards, among others.

The film revolves around a bunch of friends and fellow hotel management interns who are always there for each other through their ups and downs. The film showed Varun Dhawan as Dan, a 21-year-old young man living a carefree life that takes a turn when his companion, Shuli, slips and falls from the hotel terrace and is left paralyzed. He makes sure that she is okay and takes up the responsibility of taking care of Shuli. The film has some heavy scenes and Sarcar was nominated as the Best Director at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne.
