Singham Again Vs Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3: Both Bollywood releases on Diwali have performed well in the opening weekend, with each crossing the ₹100 crore mark comfortably at the box office in three days. The festive period proved to be fruitful for the new movies in India and internationally. Despite a clash and initial war over screen sharing, Kartik Aaryan fronted horror-comedy and Ajay Devgn 's cop action drama have both shown a strong pull at the ticket window. So how did they perform on the crucial first Monday?
How Did Singham Again perform on its first Monday?
According to early estimates shared by Sacnilk, Singham Again collected ₹17.50 crore on Monday, taking its total business in four days to ₹139.25 crore. The drop from Sunday to Monday was less than 50% which indicates that the Rohit Shetty helmed actioner has managed a strong pull as the week begins.
In the opening weekend, Singham Again collected over ₹122 crore in India and an additional $2.2 million overseas. It also emerged as Ajay Devgn's biggest box office opener to date. Mumbai, NCR, Pune and Bengaluru have emerged as the film's biggest markets.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 box office pull on its first Monday
The word of mouth for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is positive and the horror-comedy is expected to have an edge over Singham Again going forward. According to the early estimates, Anees Bazmee directed horror comedy scored in the range of ₹17-18 crores nett on Monday, which is the same as Singham Again. This is a good sign for the BB3 which has been trailing behind the other release since the start.
Overseas, both Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singham Again have enjoyed terrific starts, with both ranking on the global top 10 box office charts. It remains to be seen where the two land in the coming time.
