Sonam Kapoor hails from the Kapoor family of Bollywood and she is the daughter of Anil Kapoor and the niece of Sanjay and Boney Kapoor. Sonam has been a part of the industry since 2007. She has a sister, Rhea Kapoor, and a brother, Harshvardhan Kapoor, who made his Bollywood debut with Mirzya in 2016. Sonam is often called by her fans as the fashionista of Bollywood for a long time now.

Sonam Kapoor was born in Chembur, Mumbai in 1987. She completed her schooling from Arya Vidya Mandir. She chose to study Theatre and Chinese History from the United World College of East Asia. She later went on to major in Political Science and Economics from Bombay University.
According to IMDb, Sonam Kapoor’s mother, being from a business background, was skeptical about letting Sonam join the acting industry. Based on this, her mother made Sonam get a proper college education first. She then went on to act in many Bollywood movies from Sawariyaa to The Zoya Factor.

As per reports, Sonam Kapoor met her husband, Anand Ahuja, through some common friends. She married Anand in May 2018. Sonam is a foodie and a trained classical dancer. Sonam Kapoor was recently seen in The Zoya Factor. The film released in theatres on September 20, 2019. The Zoya Factor is based on the popular 2008 novel of the same name by Anuja Chauhan. The film also stars Dulquer Salmaan in the lead role. The film's plot revolves around the life of a marketing executive, Zoya, who ends up becoming a 'lucky charm' for the Indian Cricket Team.
