SS Rajamouli: Must-watch films of this Baahubali director on his b'day

SS Rajamouli is celebrating his 46th birthday today on October 10. The Baahubali movie series director is a well-known face in the Telugu film industry. He is a three-time National Award winner and has also been awarded numerous other awards. SS Rajamouli apart from his Baahubali series is also known for several other critically acclaimed projects. So here are a few of SS Rajamouli’s films you need to watch to celebrate this Padma Shri winner’s birthday.

1.  Eega

Eega (the fly) is a film about a man avenging his death by becoming a fly. This film which was directed by SS Rajamouli proved to be a super hit film. South Indian actor Sudeep won a National Award for his role as the antagonist of this film.  SS Rajamouli’s direction was also critically acclaimed. The Hindi version of the film Makkhi was not as well received by the audience as its Telugu and Tamil version.

2. Chatrapathi

SS Rajamouli’s Chatrapathi was not only well-received by the audience but also presented its supporting actor and music director to win National Awards. Superstar Prabhas and Shriya Saran played the lead roles in the film. The film’s plot revolves around its name. Chatrapathi is a story about a man who becomes a saviour of the oppressed after suffering from his own set of personal crisis.

3. Magadheera

SS Rajamouli’s Magadheera is a story about reincarnation. Ram Charan and Kajal Aggrawal who played the lead roles in the film catapulted to success because of this film. This SS Rajamouli directed film surpassed the records of Chandramukhi regarding the longest running film. Magadheera won two National Awards the same year for Best Choreography and Best Visual Effects.

4. Yamadonga

SS Rajamouli’s Yamadonga is a fantasy action-comedy film released in 2007. The film starred some notable actors from the Telugu film industry such as Mohan Babu, Jr. NTR, Mamta Mohandas and Priyamani. The film received mixed reactions from the audience and the critics. Although these reviews did not affect the film and this fantasy action-comedy flick turned out to be blockbuster.
