Stree 2 Box Office: The Shraddha Kapoor starrer is all set to hit the big screens on August 15 alongside Vedaa and Khel Khel Mein. The horror comedy film also starring Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurrana and Pankaj Tripathi seems to be the clear first choice for the viewers on Independence Day as indicated by the advanced collections. However, not just the box office collection even the screen count is titled in the favour of Stree 2

Stree 2 gets more screens in box office clash with Vedaa and Khel Khel Mein

While box office predictions, and advanced bookings all indicate a clear victory for Shraddha Kapoor starrer in the three-way clash, Akshay's Khel Khel Mein and John's Vedaa are now competing for seconds. However, it is also worth noting that Stree 2 is releasing in almost three times the screens as the other two films.

As per Sacnilk, the three-way clash of the movies is a ‘risky’ move by the producer of the films. The report claimed, “Stree 2 is running ahead to grab the maximum number of screens against Khel Khel Mein and Vedaa, due to being a highly anticipated movie and strong distribution team.” The film is being exhibited on 11,696 screens across the country. On the other hand, Khel Khel Mein has booked 3797 screens while Vedaa will be shown on a total of 4867 screens across Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages, as per Sacnilk.

The Independence Day clash will ‘make a bit of a dent in the business of all the films,' as per experts

While the box office clash amid the films has become a talking point, some trade analysts believe that it will become a hurdle for all movies. In an exclusive conversation with Republic Digital trade expert Akshaye Rathi argues, “I truly feel that all of them (the films) have the ability to coexist simultaneously at the box office. But what's gonna be bothersome is the ability to optimise. They are showcasing and programming in cinemas, especially in a country like India, which is already under-screened. And that may really make a bit of a dent in the business of all the films because none of them would get the optimal showcasing that they otherwise deserved. So here is hoping that all the three films can coexist can do where you can find their audience.”

Despite the box office showdown, the Independence Day extended weekend is expected to be a delight in the otherwise gloomy times faced by Bollywood releases in the first half of the year. Trade analysts and exhibitors are hopeful that the release of Stree 2, Vedaa and Khel Khel Mein would bring in good returns in business.
